Archive for February, 2011
Welcome to the start of something wonderful and exciting. Which, in case you hadn’t guessed, is the creative teaming up of screen print wizards, White Duck (WD), and us, Boneshaker Magazine.
We have created an A2, 1 colour screen printed poster featuring a beautiful Rob Draper illustration made exclusively for Boneshaker magazine, and is the first in a series of prints that are to be produced in collaboration between White Duck, Boneshaker and featured artists from the magazine and others.
This first edition from the collaborative press will be setting the standard for all prints to come. Produced as a limited 1st edition of just 100, onto a 270gsm acid-free and archival stock, each print will be signed and numbered by the artist and dual-embossed with the Boneshaker and White Duck insignias.
Exquisitely realised and beautifully crafted, we present to you the first poster produced under the White Duck x Boneshaker banner.

To celebrate the launch of issue 4 of Boneshaker Magazine, we would like to invite one and all to Cafe Kino (Stokes Croft, Bristol) for a few drinks and maybe some food (you should try the Kino Burger… yum yum).We have invited our friend Matt (Shellac Sound) to play some 78s, so there will be a gramophone dj set…
It will be the first chance to buy a copy of issue 4 and we will also have a limited edition print for sale, along with some t-shirts. Artwork from issue 4 will also adorn the walls, so there will be plenty to keep you entertained. Here are the essential details:
Boneshaker Mag Issue 4 launch
Friday 25th February
6.30 – 9.30pm
Cafe Kino (Stokes Croft, Bristol)
We hope to see you there…
One of our regular contributors, Nick from Misinterpreted Complications took a walk down to the printers to see the magazine on the press. The guys at Taylor Bros did their usual tour, spending time explaining the print process, how they match colour density and getting geeky about offset printing! It sounds like Nick had a great time finding out more about how the mag makes it from machine to shelf – he also took these great photos.
It seems a while since we lasted posted a blog on the Boneshaker website.
Well, never fear, good news is very definitely here…
Issue 4 of Boneshaker Magazine is now at the printers and we are hoping to have them back at some point next week. This means that they should be in stockists by the end of February (maybe slightly later outside of the UK).
Articles on Dom Gill’s tandem adventures, regular article My Beautiful Bike (words by John McFaul, Illustration by Nicola Meiring), a great article on the guys at Brother Cycles and even some fictional storytelling and bike poetry. We like to keep you entertained…
We will be having a launch for issue 4 in Bristol on Friday 25th February…. more details to follow on this – expect more great artwork, the chance to buy a limited edition Boneshaker poster (our first foray into the art world) and a gramophone DJ helping you to get your groove on.
